Multilingual French-Canadian, Cuban & Bolivian recording artist, singer-songwriter Karen Sandoval-Santana is a versatile entertainer who sings and writes in English, Spanish and French. While pursuing her post-secondary studies, she released her first indie EP "Apples and Oranges" in November 2018. Following up with a soft bedroom pop single, "Under You" she released in March 2020.
In Toronto, she found Sunset Cyphers, an open mic night at Trinity Bellwoods Park. Through Kensington Market, she befriended a community of artists whom she would busk with. She began performing in venues such as Amsterdam Bicycle Club, Friday Roots and the Hideout. Eventually she started getting booked for shows with the Dreamhouse Collective at the B-Side Lounge and The Shop1566.
Karen Sandoval-Santana was born in Montreal, Quebec. Her mother is Cuban and her father is Bolivian. She went to French schools while growing up in London, On. She attended Nanyang Technological University in Singapore during a university semester abroad. Upon completion of her journalism bachelor's and philosophy minor from Ryerson University, she found viral success creating videos on Tik Tok.
To follow up, she performed her first major show for the POP Montréal Festival in Quebec. Since, she has released an alternative-pop single “Trippin” in November 2021, a French rap “Enfant sage” in
February and a Spanish Merengue “Más Sabia” in March 2022.
